HOW TO BUY A US STYLE FRIDGE FREEZER....
THERE are a number of different terms for US Style Fridge Freezers such as American and side by side. These large fridge freezers are becoming increasingly popular and less expensive. Morover, most new models now have frost free freezer compartments and auto-defrost fridges.
• ENERGY EFFICIENCY - this is the most important criterion. Fridge Freezers are always switched on so use large amounts of electricity over their lifetime. In addition, with the spiralling cost of electricity and for environmental reasons, energy efficent fridge freezers grade A are strongly recommended. The extra cost will soon be recoupled in lower electricity bills.
• FROST FREE - defrosting a freezer is a chore which we could all do well without and we can if we choose to spend a bit extra and buy a frost free fridge freezer.
